Fletcher's 5k
Join us for our 2nd annual, (1st in-person) “Fletcher’s 5k.” Like last year, we will have the virtual option available but we hope to see you in person!
Who: You and your family/Friends
What: Join together in walking/running a 5k in support of your friends or family that have gone through miscarriage or stillbirth, and in remembrance of all of the babies born still.
When: 10/16/2021. Event starts at 9. Sanctioned 5k run starts at 9:45am and 1k family walk will start at 10am.
Where: Ada Hayden Park – 5205 Grand Ave. Ames, IA 50010
Cost: $35/person, $10 (kids aged 5-14 – excludes shirt)
With your registration, you will receive an event shirt that will be available for pickup (9am morning of event) or shipped (week after event.)
This is a sanctioned 5k by True Time Racing and your official times will be posted online after the event.
Why: We are on mission to walk alongside families after they experience miscarriage or stillbirth. We provide financial assistance towards hospital/medical bills as well as emotional resources. All event proceeds will go directly to help further this mission.
Registration is required for all event participants. A fundraising page will be set up for you if you would like to help raise funds towards our mission/cause.
*The deadline to register and receive a shirt/specific size is 9/30. Registrations after this date may not receive a shirt or your specified size.*

FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
Yes. We will have refreshments including coffee as well as donuts for all race/walk participants. There will be water pre-race.
We will run/walk in the rain, cold, or snow. If it is unsafe to run/walk, the race director reserves the right to cancel the race.
There will be no refunds of registration fees for the race. You are allowed to run it as a virtual race if you would like instead.
Yes, we are only taking online registration for this event. You should receive a confirmation email after you register. If you do not receive it, check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot find it, email us at connect@thefletcherfoundation.org and we can confirm your registration.
All participants will be able to pick up their bib numbers, timing chips and event shirts at the 5k event, starting at 9am.
